There was a tame parrot that lived in the village and he came to our place for a look. The things he said were so funny.

Adventure after adventure

We started our last day with a swim and a relax then jumped straight into packing, said goodbye to our friends and packed the dinghy. We all got in the dingy and Tokapae took us to a village around the point called Bunikalo where the ferry stops. (I thought the waves were really scary as we were in the open ocean but dad said I was just a big fat woose😉). 
We passed Bunikalo after 40 mins and then went down further into the Morovo lagoon for a look around. There were heaps of mangroves and there are also crocodiles to go with it and mum REALLY doesn't like them. I liked that the people protected the sea grass by marking it so all the dugongs don't go hungry.
We went back to the dock at Bunikalo and hopped off and went to sit down but then all the market sellers came to meet the ferry so we had to find another spot at Paecy's grandpa's house. The sellers are people who come even from villages that were an hours walk away with heaps of things to sell to ferry passengers.  They walk all the way there carrying everything and they might only sell one thing to the people who come off the boat and then walk all the way back in the dark, but every dollar is worth it.  We just waited until the boat would arrive at 9pm and we ate dinner under cover from the rain.

When the boat arrived it was chaos. You have to climb from the dock through the window onto the deck to get in then find a spot on the deck and put a picnic mat down and mark your territory. We had so much luggage and there were people everywhere getting and off, unloading and loading bags and a few people were jumping off the side of the boat (as you do). Once we got all our luggage and we found each other we went through the the boat trying to find a spot while tripping over people's legs. We found a nice cosy spot and put our mat down. I didn't sleep much but I read my book mostly. At about 2am the ocean was quite rough and I was really nervous but dad said it was all good.
We arrived in Honiara safely at 9:30am and getting off the boat was WAY more difficult than getting on and after a while we got in a taxi with help from our friends Nelson and Stanley and went to the hotel.

We dropped our bags off at the hotel and went two find some brunch.
We just slept and rested for the rest of the day.
