Honiara Happenings

We woke up early in Brisbane and said goodbye to our friends and got dropped off at the airport.

We went through customs (Darc particularly enjoyed the eye scanner) and mum got her bag searched, as always she always has some lipstick or hand cream hidden away in her hand bag.

We boarded the plane in our usual style with dad taking a million pictures(so embarrassing).

We arrived in Honiara in 35 degrees and then got off, went through immigration and went to get our bags. The carousel for the bags was broken so everyone had to carry their luggage in. Dad waited and waited but the spears for the spear gun and the fridge we were bringing did not appear.

Dad went to get help from someone while mum,Darc and I got a taxi to the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel but the hotel had not recorded our booking so we had to wait. 

Dad arrived with the spears but no fridge, that was still in Brisbane.

A lady came up to us and gave us a spare room. The hotel is up a hill so they have a cable car going up the hill. We got to our room( dad, Darc and I had to share a bed while mum got one to herself).

Once we were settled in our room we went to a bar hotel on the beach and watched the sun go down.

We went back to the hotel for dinner then mum and I went for a swim in the pool.

We got up, had breakfast and went of to the markets then we went to the lime lounge for lunch which is where I am now, typing.

After this we are going to start the next leg of our adventure. Will do a blog post if we survive.👍👍🐠🐬
