The Adventure BEGINS

On saturday we started our adventure to the Solomon Islands. I call it an adventure as to me a holiday classifies as a lovely beach getaway/resort but our "adventures" usually involve dying in some way or another. I think this adventure will be an awesome one, reading my book in the sun and snorkelling is my life plan for the next three weeks and that sounds good to me.

On our flight from Hobart to Brisbane.

We then catch our virgin flight over from Brisbane to Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.
we stay in a hotel for a night then start the next mode of transportation ;)

We catch possibly the smallest plane you have ever seen and fly to a town called Seghe (seg-ay)
with all our luggage.

we hop in a dingy with a 40 horse power motor and make our way into the pacific ocean and keep going for 2-3 hours.
(lets just die shall we)

we then land at Peava( the village that we are staying in)
and walk over to the house where we are staying.

This is the beautiful bungalow on the beach that we will be staying at.
The place where you will find me (Ava) reading my book for the rest of the three weeks.

I will continue blogging but there may not be pictures as we are doing this blog from the satellite phone as there is no internet or technology.
Bye!

  1. Love the photos and maps Ava. A great intro to your blog. Hope you were able to download some good books. Reading and snorkeling sound very idyllic! I would definitely classify a 3 hour "tinny" trip to your island as an adventure! can't wait for your next blog post. Safe travel and love to you all. Gran
